Positive Puppy

Note: this course is typically arranged with breeders that are looking to get their pups and new families started off right away!

Positive Puppy is a 5 week course designed to get you started socializing and training with your new puppy.  It introduces all of the necessary skills, such as attention, sit, target, recalls, leave it, drop it, walking on leash as well as address common puppy dilemmas such as house training and nipping.

It is best for puppies to begin as early as it is safe to do so in regards to vaccinations.  Please discuss this with your veterinarian and/or breeder.

Mind Your Manners, Level 1

Picture
MOST START HERE: This class is appropriate for dogs of all ages that need to begin obedience training, or simply need to refresh skills. This class covers all of the basics of good manners: sit, down, targeting, come when called, stay with distraction, greeting appropriately, walking politely, handling, leave it, drop it and more. This, and all classes that Loyal Learners offers, are designed to bring you and your dog together through positive reinforcement training.

Controlled and Composed

Basic manners is a plus to get the most out of this course as it builds off of skills developed in Mind Your Manners (Level 1). It is designed to improve your dog's ability to keep his/her impulses under control in daily life. Exercises include: stays with heavy distraction, waiting for things in life that are important to your dog (such as going out the door or in/out of a vehicle), establishing a reliable real life “leave it,” walking past interesting things and waiting to be instructed to greet people. This class will be taught in a fun and real life learning environment.

This course will increase your dog's focus and reliability in distracting environments and increase your bond as a team.

Come When Called

Rally Obedience

Think of an AKC Rally® event as any team sport: You and your dog navigate a course, side-by-side, as you steer him through a course of 10-20 different signs. Each of these signs provides instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed. The dog and handler move continuously throughout the course with the dog under control at the handler’s left side. There is a clear sense of teamwork between the dog and handler both during and between the numbered signs. Although each performance is timed, having a good race time is not the goal; it’s all about working as a team while performing the skills, with the dog under control. taken from http://www.akc.org/sports/rally/

We provide both courses and drop-in Rally O sessions

We also compete in UKC Rally venues as well https://www.ukcdogs.com/rally-obedience
