Jessica has been heavily involved in the dog community since 2002, when she began to rehabilitate Molosser-type dogs with behavior issues. From there, she met her first Cane Corso and was instantly smitten, inspiring her to launch her kennel, Casanova Cane Corso, in 2005. Jessica, with her clan of Corsos, is an active participant in Conformation, Rally, Obedience, Coursing, Weight Pulling, Barn hunt and Therapy work.

Originally a classroom teacher, Jessica loves to teach and build skills through positive relationships and associations. This craft is evident in her training style, where she is able to highlight a dog’s positive traits and use that to improve behavior and build new skills. In 2010, Jessica began formal training at a local dog facility. In 2013, she resigned as a classroom teacher to instruct 4-legged students and their owners full-time.  She then enrolled in the Karen Pryor Academy, graduating in 2015, Jessica opened Loyal Learners Pet Services.

Currently, Jessica lives with her many Cane Corsos, Kune Kune and Juliana pigs, horses, Maine Coon cats, rats and a pair of Caique parrots. To date, she has had 35+ Champion dogs, many Grand Champion dogs, more than 35 Canine Good Citizen dogs, and 10 Therapy dogs registered through Therapy Dog International. Jessica and her dogs compete in a variety of dog sports.  She also has trained her cats for "trick dog" and enjoys gentling and training Mustang horses.

Jessica is joined by her husband Josh, who loves being part of all of the animal endeavors. He is enjoying trialing with his Corso, Panzer, riding horses and training his baby horse. You may see him at drop-off and pick-up time, as well as assisting in classes, and teaching Play and Train sessions.
